Safeguarding
Last updated 3 October 2026
Template notice: this policy is a starting template for the Blessumo MVP. Have it reviewed by qualified legal counsel for your jurisdiction before public launch.
Everyone deserves to be safe at Blessumo, especially young people and anyone going through a hard time.
Protections for under-18s
- Profiles are private by default.
- Direct messages are switched off for under-18s; young people take part in supervised groups instead.
- Youth groups require approval and are run by approved, trusted leaders.
- Young people are excluded from public leaderboards and location features.
Crisis support
When a post, comment or prayer request suggests someone may be at risk, Blessumo shows crisis resources and holds it for a moderator to review. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. In the US call or text 988; elsewhere visit findahelpline.com.
Reporting a concern
Use the Report button on any post, comment, message or profile and choose “A child may be unsafe” or “Someone may be at risk of harm”. These reports are prioritised by our moderators.
Leaders and volunteers
Group leaders and “Talk to someone” volunteers are approved by administrators and agree to follow this policy. All admin actions are recorded in an audit log.
